“Without a doubt that is the biggest surprise I have had in three years on the show. When you stood there with that cheeky grin and said, ‘I … I want to be like Elaine Page’ everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now. That was stunning, an incredible performance. Amazing, I’m shocked, how about you two?” “I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honestly think that we were all being very cynical and I think that this is the biggest wake up call ever and I just want to say that it was a complete privilege listening to that.” “I knew the minute you walked out on that stage that we were going to hear something extraordinary and I was right.”

Provocation pure and simple places popular iconography recognizable elements of production as well as post production, images, figures and icons from popular videos onto stage, into a context of live art. These videos I receive second or even fifth hand from the home made visual vocabulary of Youtube. As an artistic choice, Youtube functions as the main vehicle for me to consume and depict ready made narratives, image sequences, iconography and text. Through the didactic design of its interface, Youtube directs me to arrive to pick particular popular themes to deal with in the work. Youtube is in charge of my passivity towards information, it operates the line of my perception leading to the selection of what I choose to reference on stage. I am interested in Youtube for the concept of the ready made as well as its potential to proliferate familiar archive of image and narrative. Youtube as a vehicle reveals a characteristic of dealing with information as an authorial operation- where self operating or „djing? of videos collide with the operations of millions of others watchers and up loaders. This activity „youtubing? proliferates a shared visual archive and community at a global scale. Considering our shared visual memory, we become conditioned to a frame of perception. Being conditioned to the contents and conceptions of Youtube, actively leads me to focus on particular streams of information.
